I guess. You can see in the left hand lane there is warning lights, so if an over height truck approaches, the lights flash but rental truck drivers are especially oblivious and collide anyways.

This is a half hour from me; I know exactly where it is. And there's PLENTY of signs - FIVE of the damn things starting three blocks back. Not to mention the bright yellow reflective tape on the guard beam that the trucks actually hit...and not to mention the yellow lights that flash only for overheight vehicles. There's just no excuse for hitting that beam. There isn't...if you as a driver can't pick up a clue from FIVE signs, you need to be off the damn road.
Count them yourself here. Take that drive up Gregson street and count them.
The collisions are all due to idiot drivers either a) distracted b) not aware of the height of their vehicle c) just being idiots.

Number 84! The sign and lights clearly are not working. Clearly they must be distracting the driver from the looming overhang. The obvious solution is to take them down altogether. It also might help if, instead of the aesthetically jarring colors of the bridge as it is now, the DOT should paint a nice soothing camouflage-green pattern on its face, which would calm overstressed truck drivers and help them to drive more carefully.

Just make an IR system and put a traffic light there. Truck is too tall? Red light with a big ass sign that says "you're an ass."

They have signs at every intersection for 3 blocks on either side of the bridge and a lighted sign that flashes when an over height vehicle passes it.

Maybe there should just be a gate that goes down for oversized vehicles blocking traffic. Inconvenient, but people will begin to learn, as a bunch of people start yelling and preparing to stone them.
That or get one of those awesome shredder things to just pre-emptively trim oversized vehicles. Sounds like a plan to me.

They can heat the water so it doesn't. Besides, it goes straight to a drain, just make a wider drain... plenty of bridges are totally grate, so it's not a big deal.

Hmmm... that's a tough call. I think I'll have to go with #78 due to bonus points achieved from attempting to continue to drive through AFTER the abrupt stop. That and the added destruction of the signal lights from reversing out.

The problem is oversized vehicles have to be able to get all the way to the little side street there to a few loading docks up it so there is not really space for something like that.

Then set up a highway type trestle with hanging concrete bars, similar to a drive-thru. Im just shocked the bridge hasnt really sustained much of any damage all this time.

That is what they have done. There is a crash beam in front of the bridge and that is what the trucks crash into ;)
The crash beam already had to be replaced once. Between the 6 signs, overhead warning flashing lights, crash beam and limited space between the side street and the actual bridge, I doubt much more can be done. Besides, if they fixed it what would I watch?
